Five years ago, I started DW with one goal in mind: To help people train for their body, not against it.
After going through years of injury and rehab myself, I knew how frustrating it was to feel stuck — like the gym wasn’t made for you, like progress was out of reach. That’s why DW was never meant to be “just a gym.”
It’s a space where training is made simple, supportive, and actually enjoyable - even if you’re injured, lacking confidence, or unsure where to start.
Over the years, we’ve grown, evolved, and worked with hundreds of people who never thought the gym could be for them. Our mission is the same today as it was on day one:

Hi, I’m Sam,
I manage the day-to-day operations at DW and support our clients with their nutrition.
I’ve got a degree in Sport & Fitness Management and have managed various gyms and health clubs since leaving university.
My passion for nutrition led me to complete a Level 4 qualification, and I love helping people build a realistic, sustainable strategy around food that actually works for them.
I’ve always been active — from playing rugby and hockey to keeping up my own training — and I genuinely enjoy staying fit and strong.
Outside of work, I’m a proud mum and spend my spare time training dogs, one of my favourite hobbies.
I believe fitness should be fun, achievable, and empowering — and I’m here to help you build confidence and strength, both in and out of the gym.

I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Gym Instructing and Personal Training, but my real journey began five years ago when I started training with Danny.
Although I’d always been interested in health and fitness, it wasn’t until then that I truly believed I could stick to regular training and make it part of my lifestyle.
Since then, the impact on both my mental and physical health has been life-changing — and it’s even led me into a new career as a personal trainer.
I love working with clients to build confidence, improve technique, and smash through goals they once thought were out of reach. There’s nothing better than watching someone surprise themselves with what they’re capable of.

At 53, I’ve recently qualified as a personal trainer - proof that it’s never too late to follow your passion!
After seven years of training with the incredible Danny at DW Health and Wellness, I completely fell in love with both spin and strength training. His energy and encouragement inspired me to take the leap and become a coach myself - so I could help others experience the same incredible benefits I’ve gained: improved strength, confidence, and overall well-being.
I especially love working with people over 40 - helping them rediscover their strength, boost their self-esteem, and carve out time for themselves in their busy lives.
